Asian-inspired dressing with sesame, ginger, garlic, and green onion

Instructions

  1. In a bowl or jar, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey or maple syrup, ginger, and garlic until well combined.

  2. Stir in the sriracha or chili garlic sauce if using, sesame seeds, green onion, and black pepper.

  3. Taste and adjust. Add more honey for sweetness, rice vinegar for tang, or sriracha for heat.

  4. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water and whisk again until the dressing reaches your preferred consistency.

  5. Let the dressing sit for 10 to 15 minutes so the ginger, garlic, sesame, and green onion flavors can meld.

  6. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 1 week. Shake or stir well before serving.

Simple tip.

For extra depth, add a small splash of toasted sesame oil just before serving. A little goes a long way, so start with just a few drops.

Make it your own.

Add more sriracha for heat, extra ginger for a sharper bite, or a little additional honey for sweetness. You can also add fresh cilantro for another layer of flavor.
